This book, according to its subtitle, is..." a comprehensive guide to the design, development, restoration and maintenance ofthe Lotus-Ford twin-cam engine", and it is. Author Miles Wilkins has divided this large hard-cover book into 3 "Parts" and sub-divided those into "chapters", part 1 deals with the development of the Lotus twin cam engine, and is the most interesting part of the book. Part 2 describes a strip-down and rebuild of a worn twin-cam engine, complete with black and white photographs and detailed drawings. Part 3 is a very nice compilation of data specifications, musings on the future (from the perspective of 1988) and other odds and ends. The book was published in 1988 by Osprey Publishing Ltd., London, England, and is distributed in the USA by Motorbooks International, of Osceola, Wisconsin. It is ISBN# 0-85045-676-2.

At present, it is only available through collectors on the used market. However, a paperback reprint is (was) scheduled to be re-printed and issued in November 2001.
