This is a large 10 inch by 10 inch hardbound book, filled with Graham Robson's well researched and clearly written text, with beautiful color and black & white photographs throughout it's 160 pages. Recently published in 2001 by Haynes Publishing, Sparkford Nr Yeovil, Somerset BA22 7JJ, England, it is ISBN 1 85960 688 1.

16 pages of chapter 2, Cortinas and Lotus-Cortinas 1963-68 includes text and many, many black & white and color photographs of MK1 and MK2 Lotus Cortinas. Cars shown include Team Lotus cars, Boreham-built Ford rally cars and many independents, Alan Mann racing MKIs and MKIIs (including the MKII Cosworth FVA formula 2 powered rocket, below, on the right), Willment GTs and Lotus Cortinas, and others. Robson makes extensive use of his research done for earlier books on the Cortinas, and not much new is found here. But in the second half of the chapter there are some interesting interview quotations attributed to Alan Mann, and to John Whitmore.

Lotus Cortinas are pictured and mentioned briefly through the rest of the book as they relate to the other topics. Also in the book, is a photograph of Anita Taylor, driver for Broadspeed, of Anglias, Escorts and Mustangs. She is also shown in a 1967 Castrol Achievements booklet, elsewhere on this website.

Also in that chapter on page 22, is one of my favorite black & white Lotus Cortina photos, shown in the scan below.

A Cortina Listserv subscriber mentioned this book to me, and I found a copy pretty easily. It is still available new, but is also available as a "remainder" from discount book stores, which is how I bought mine. Look around a bit before buying. I have seen a different dust jacket in some listings (below)- but I don't know if this is a different printing or not.
